What I do

I offer flexible, personalized tutoring that meets students at their background and level, augmenting their classroom studies with creative explorations and lots of question-asking in order to establish deep conceptual understanding. I believe that a powerful education is among the best gifts one can give and receive, and that learning how to learn grants the flexibility to make sense of the world and think creatively about novel problems.

What it’s not

I am not a test-prep company and strictly avoid “teaching to the test.” Instead, I teach students to think differently and flexibly in order to boost their confidence when tackling novel problems, improve their performance in school, and support their academic engagement.

Who it’s for

My tutoring subject-matter focus is at the high school and college level. Advanced middle school students and high school students looking to tackle AP/college-level content are equally welcome!

Who I am

Desktop View

I am a Korean-American STEM and music educator currently based in the San Francisco Bay Area. I have 9+ years of experience tutoring math, physics, computer science, and music theory, and I am also a Distinguished K-12 Tutor with the online tutoring platform Tutor.com.

I received my B.S. in Mathematics from MIT, where I also completed minors in computer science and physics along with a concentration in music. Continuing my studies at Stanford University, I graduated with a master’s degree in education and currently possess California single-subject teaching credentials for math and physics, along with supplemental authoriations for computer science and English Learner (EL) instruction. While at MIT, I provided on-demand tutoring for college-level math subjects and co-taught a full-stack web development course. I also had the opportunity to lead an engineering workshop abroad in South Korea through the MIT Global Teaching Labs program!

I firmly believe that the best educators are ones who themselves love to learn and see themselves as lifelong learners who can improve at anything if they put their minds to it. Check out my other projects around this website to see what new learnings I’ve been up to recently!
